Products & Specifications

The new plant, situated at our Moores Farm site in Pingewood, about 10 minutes from junction 11 of the M4, has the ability to produce five different aggregate products from inert excavation waste (muck) from construction sites.

The Products

The five aggregate products produced by the plant are:

• 0/2 Building sand
• 0/4 Sharp Sand
• 4/10 Aggregate (10mm single sized gravel)
• 10/20 Aggregate (20mm single sized gravel)
• 20/40 Aggregate (40mm single sized gravel)

20mm all in concrete ballast (0-20mm) is also produced by mixing of the various products.

40-100mm oversize material is also available, this consists mainly of brick & concrete & makes an ideal substitute for hardcore.

Any special requirements can normally be catered for by controlled mixing of the various products. Contact our technical department with your requirements.

Products produced from oversize materials & demolition waste by further processing at our crushing facilities:

• Type 1 Crushed Concrete
  (Unbound mixture for sub base SHW clause 803)
• 6F5 Crushed Masonry
  (SHW Series 600)

Specifications and quality control

All the products are thoroughly tested to ensure they all conform with the relevant European standards as follows:

• BS EN 12620 (aggregates for concrete)
• BS EN 13139 (aggregates for mortar)
• BS EN 13242 (aggregates for unbound use)
• BS EN 13285 (Unbound mixtures)

Products are also tested against the requirements set out in the Highways Agency Specification for Highway Works (SHW) for use as Pipe Bedding, Drainage Materials, Sub bases & Earthworks matarials, see Highways Agency Specifications page for further details.

Due to our strict quality control systems and regular (weekly) testing in our own laboratory all Hadley recycled aggregates comply with the requirements of the WRAP quality protocol.
